Class Descriptions

Pilates A.M. 

The perfect start to the day. Like all our classes, this whole body workout starts with some nice contemporary moves to warm-up, adds strong classical Pilates to build strength and endurance and finishes with a few deep yoga stretches for happy joints and upright skeletons. Class lasts 50 minutes. Arrive ready to workout, leave ready for the day!

Pilates P.M.

Like our a.m. version, this class blends classical and contemporary moves with some yoga inspired stretches.  This will be a flowing class where you will learn to build transitions into the workout to get the maximum benefits from your time on the mat.  (H20 and a small towel recommended)

Classical Level 1

A beginner AND open level class. Learn, practice and perfect the fundamental exercises of the mat repertoire - every other level builds from here, and every other level includes these exercises, so this one is for everyone from beginner to advanced practitioner alike (not advised for flexion-intolerant spines).

Classical Level 2

Building on the foundation you have gained from our Level 1 classes, you will learn new exercises in the repertoire that continue to strengthen your "powerhouse" or core while challenging your endurance, flexibility and coordination. Expect a stronger workout and a stronger body as a result.

'Contrology' for Men 

Joseph Pilates named the system of exercises he developed 'Contrology' - the use of the mind to control the muscles. He refined his method when he was interned on the Isle of Man during the First World War, teaching his exercises to the soldiers there. This is a workout. Bring a small towel and a bottle of water, and prepare to feel strong, focused, invigorated yet relaxed when you walk out our door! 

Low-Flex Pilates

Osteoporosis, osteopenia, herniated discs, abdominal 'separation' after pregnancy, abdominal hernia, seriously delicate necks...all these conditions, whether chronic or acute need specific training that avoids excessive flexion (forward bending) of the spine. Get your workout in, keep your fitness up, never stop moving, this class is your class!

Morning Quickie! (45 minute class)

Sometimes, you just need to get your Pilates on and fast! This class bridges Classical Levels 1 & 2 and throws in some tasty yoga-inspired stretches to get you on your way. Mmmm!
